What about gift certificates for the food court in the Westfield mall? The management used to make them.

The Grove on Mission near Yerba Buena Gardens is good and inexpensive.
Do all 40 have to eat at once?
The Oasis Cafe (there are a couple) is good Mediterranean food.

There is the food court in Yerba Buena gardens as well.

Delarosa (Italian) and Tropisueno (Mexican) in the walkway between the Marriott Marquis and Jewish museum are good.
