San Francisco is a small city, but it's chock full of hidden treasures and curious sites. If it's your first time driving into the city, the views from the Golden Gate Bridge or the Bay Bridge will show off some of the city's treasured splendor, but Coit Tower stands out as one of the most unique buildings in the skyline.

To the untrained eye, the 210-foot, Art Deco beauty looks like an easy place to reach, given its prominent place perched atop Telegraph Hill. In reality, there's quite a bit of legwork involved to make your way to its entrance. And one of the paths to reach Coit Tower is a secret landmark of its own, the windy, green and curious Greenwich Steps (also called the Greenwich Street Stairs).

The Greenwich Steps are tucked away on Telegraph Hill at the corner of Greenwich and Sansome, just a short walk from the Embarcadero, and offer a quiet haven filled with flowers, scenic views and homes carved straight out of a fairy tale.

Kids having fun and playing very well at Flower Piano in the Arboretum last Sunday. The sheet music was on an iPad, which had to be swiped. The times have changed.
