The longest bus route in San Francisco stops above the sand at Baker Beach in the Presidio, rolls through the heart of Golden Gate Park, passes the campus of S.F. State then cuts across the city to Bayview in the city’s Southeast corner. Can you guess which one it is?


The Chronicle analyzed Muni data to identify some fascinating facts about San Francisco’s transit system. The analysis involved examining data on all 54 bus and trolley routes, and calculating the elevation gain between each stop. Here are five facts we uncovered.
