I always mention this when going to Muir Woods.

It's deep in the Marin wilderness

I’ve never seen a line for add-water pancakes. This one wrapped completely around a 121-year-old inn atop Mount Tamalpais, from the cashier all the way back to the hiking trail I trudged up to get there. Not to say it was a hard hike — because honestly, it wasn’t. I’ve hiked much more difficult trails.

But when you’re focused on the promise of pancakes, maple syrup and fruit, it’s hard to put one foot in front of the other knowing you literally can’t drive a car to get to this secluded viral sensation deep in the Marin wilderness.

‘Just come early’

You’ve probably seen the West Point Inn’s famous pancake breakfast on social media.
