A Day In Sonoma Valley Wine Country

Start the day at 9:00 am departing from San Francisco aboard a bus with your fellow SFTGG colleagues.

After the drive north find yourself at the picturesque Sonoma Plaza where we will explore:

The fine art of making a toast, while we all celebrate with a liquid surprise; logistics of vehicle parking, guest instructions, restrooms, and basic food needs. We will discuss the historical landmarks of the plaza such as the Mission, the Bear Flag Revolt, General Vallejo & more. Of course this all includes the pleasure of free time for those of you who want to dig into your own areas of interest.

We will then continue to the Jack London State Historic Park, where we will first enjoy a seated picnic lunch (BYOLunch or order a $10.00 custom made local deli sandwich lunch), while admiring Jack’s beautiful Sonoma property and vineyards that played a key role in the original winemaking of Sonoma valley.

There we will experience first hand what it might have been like for guests to come to The Beauty Ranch to be with Jack London, or take a walk to the Wolf House ruins.

Delight your travel writing aspirations and be astonished to see what Jack accomplished in his life as he travelled the world, wrote about it, and published his craft. The House of Happy Walls (museum) will have us marvel at Jack London’s world, from Oakland to Asia, and beyond.  The Jack London State Park staff, and volunteers are eagerly awaiting our SFTGG arrival.

Finally, our group of professional guides will satisfy our intrigue of what a full production winery entails.  We will see in person the production facility from tank fermentation to barrel rooms.  Stroll through the vineyards as we sip a delicious flight of family grown & family made wines which our hosts will explain in great detail.  We can fill the air with our many guide related questions about wine, winemaking, and hosting guests at a Sonoma family winery.

We will return to San Francisco by 6:00 pm.

Please expect to participate in the day by sharing in the multiple exercises of the day.

Remember that this is a day on our feet.  Once in Sonoma we will only have two 20 minute bus rides.  Rest as often as you like, but wear your walking shoes. Our Training Day is almost ALL OUTSIDE !  Therefore, MOST OF THE DAY IS MASK FREE ! ! !
