Presidio Historic Walking Tour with Guild member Steve Johnson
About this event
Here's the skinny on Steve's historic walking tour of the Presidio at 11:00 am on Sunday, September 17th. Join Steve if you're able. His tours are always a big hit.
Member Steve Johnson, who volunteers for the National Park Service, will give a historical walking tour of the Presidio at 11 a.m. on Sunday, September 17th. Hear the stories about the various buildings and the people who inhabited them. A tragic love story, a female Union spy, and the role of the Presidio in 1906 will be recounted.
Afterward, grab some lunch from one of the many food trucks there and enjoy the spectacular views from the Tunnel Tops. Starts at the Visitor Center and is free, but parking is not.
There is a free shuttle that goes from the Embarcadero through the city to the Presidio: MUNI buses 1, 28 and 43 also go to the Presidio.
