SFTGG Spring General Meeting 2024

Greetings all and all are welcome

Join your peers at the Guild's 40th Spring Membership Meeting

,

In the beginning, the Lord created the Heavens and the Earth...and the San Francisco Tour Guide Guild. After all, we're out of diapers and are forty years old.

Join in the festivities and reserve your spot now. Doing so helps your meeting organizers with planning for food, drinks, etc. For that reason, reservations for you and a guest, should you bring one, are de rigeuer and puhleeze, the sooner the better.

The Spring General Meeting will be on Thursday, May 16th, in the St. Francis Hall of New St. Mary's Cathedral, 1111 Gough Street, San Francisco. Free parking will be available in the usual spots at the Cathedral.

The doors will open at 5:00 pm for sign-in, drinks, catered noshes by Berkeley's award-winning La Méditerranée, and cruising and schmoozing until 5:45 pm. At 5:45 pm our silver-tongued Membership Chairman, Ted Bagaman, will call the meeting to order, followed by a very brief announcement by your Guild President, Greg Quist, who will introduce our Guest Speaker, Steve Johnson.

Our own man of letters and historian, Steve, will give a talk about 4 women who had a big impact on San Francisco: Lotta Crabtree, Lillie Coit, Alma Speckles, and Friedel Klussman. Their stories could be included in narratives by guides, especially when talking about women in San Francisco history.

Following our Guest Speaker will be a discussion of our Guild's business, topics such as committee reports, industry updates, Q&As, and so forth.

To further entice and titillate you, a number of exquisite door prizes, hand-selected from the vaults of Sotheby's and Parke-Bernet, will be raffled off. You'll also have a most exclusive opportunity to place a bid on a very lovely bridge, which is a pocket-listing of one of our real estate partners.

The meeting will conclude at 8:00 pm with a sea of smiling faces and a grand time having been had by all.

Be there or be square!
